Brian Manwaring
Operations and manufacturing leadership, translated for managers who have to connect the work to the numbers.
Brian Manwaring is an operations and manufacturing leader. Much of his work has involved capable people who know how to run equipment, serve customers, schedule crews, solve production problems, and keep work moving—but who may still be handed an income statement and expected to explain why it changed.
Wally's Dogs grew out of that gap.
If a plant manager and I are looking at the same report and Labor is unfavorable, I don't need them to tell me that. The report already tells us. I want them to tell me why, or tell me plainly that they don't know why. If they don't know, they should still be able to tell me what they did, what they faced, and what they tried to mitigate. They should also be able to separate what was isolated and probably won't repeat from what is persistent and needs help from elsewhere in the business. That's the kind of thinking Wally's Dogs is meant to help managers develop.
